ROom 401

a hidden camera / reality television series on MTV, executive produced by Ashton Kutcher and Jason Goldberg. It is named after the room Harry Houdini died in at Detroit ‘s Grace Hospital in 1926. The show also used some of his famous acts. Room 401 took unaware victims into the center of pranks that played like mini horror movies.

Los Angeles Magazine: "Without A Trace"

“Mihm enters the kitchen, where several relatives are talking in hushed tones. ‘I’m very sorry for what happened,’ he says. ‘I’m here to help you.’ Neatly dressed in slacks and a polo shirt, the 48-year-old Mihm has the stocky, powerful build of an ex-athlete. A former Glendale homicide detective, he is accustomed to coping with tragedy with equanimity and compassion.”

The Emergency Response team has blood on its hands. This company, created by a former Los Angeles police officer, arrives after the police and the crime scene investigators. The work is difficult, but can sometimes revive investigations.

A Grim But necessary task

For most people, fresh crime scenes usually are seen only from the living room couch while watching a prime-time police drama. Ben Mihm faces them everyday at work.
